Firefighters arrived at 8.30am where they found a van ablaze on the hard shoulder.

Two fire engines were called and crews used a hose jet to put out the flames.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said no one was injured in the incident.

"We were called to the scene after the driver noticed smoke and flames coming out of the vehicle," she said.

"The fire spread under the bonnet to the contents of the van."

Highways England has confirmed both lanes are now clear.
