Van found on fire in Alamein Gardens, Stone

Firefighters were called to a van fire in a cul-de-sac this morning.

Crew members from Dartford station attended a pick-up truck ablaze in Alamein Gardens, Stone off Tollgate Road at 3am.

Two fire engines attended and crews used a hose reel jet to put the fire out.

The incident took around 20 minutes to clear. There were no reported injuries.

A member of Kent Fire and Rescue Service said they were alerted to the incident by a neighbour and were "treating the incident as suspicious".

Stone ward Cllr Kelly Grehan (Lab) has asked Kent County Council to repair the road which was damaged in the fire as soon as possible.

"Im really sorry residents have had to endure this as it was clearly a horrible experience," she said.

Police have said enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
