Woman airlifted to hospital after crash on A20 between Farningham and West Kingsdown

A woman has been flown to hospital after a serious crash closed a road.

The A20 was shut for several hours after the collision, but is now open.

The crash on Main Road in Gorse Hill, between Farningham and West Kingsdown, is between the junctions of Scratchers Lane and the A225 Eynsford Road.

Police and emergency services were called out to the road earlier this afternoon to deal with the crash site.

It is not known at this stage if anyone is seriously injured.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 11.35am to reports of a serious collision involving one car on the A20, Gorse Hill.

"The female driver of the car has been airlifted to a London hospital for treatment."
