Young woman attacked by cabbie

DETECTIVES in Dartford are hunting a taxi driver who indecently assaulted a young woman fare. had given a lift home.

The attack happened during the early hours of Sunday morning in a car park in Darenth Hill after the driver had dropped off the 20-year-old victim's friend. She had been socialising in Dartford town centre and boarded the black taxi in Spital Street after negotiating a price.

When the victim was dropped off, she sat on the kerb to put her shoes back on. It was then when the cabbie struck. Kent police spokesman Shauna Hemingway said: "It was a very traumatic attack for the young woman and we are keen to trace this man as soon as possible."

He was olive-skinned, about 45 years old, 5ft 9in tall, of medium build, had grey hair and is not believed to be from the local area.
