Dartford retain 11 players but forward Jack Barham leaves Princes Park

Dartford manager Steve King has agreed deals with 11 players for the new season.

The Darts boss is still in talks with a couple of players from the curtailed 2020/21 campaign but striker Jack Barham has announced he will not be returning to Princes Park.

Among those to agree new deals are captain Tom Bonner alongside fellow centre-backs Connor Essam, Josh Hill and Ronnie Vint, who ended the previous season on loan at Dulwich.

Goalkeepers Craig King and Dan Wilks have both agreed to stay, along with Jordan Wynter and Cameron Brodie.

Midfielders Jack Jebb, Noor Husin and Luke Allen complete the names announced so far by the Darts - which means the future of leading scorer Jacob Berkeley-Agyepong plus forwards Nassim L'Ghoul, Elliott Romain, Charlie Sheringham and Chris Dickson remain up in the air. Dickson was part of the Hornchurch squad which won the FA Trophy at Wembley earlier this month.

The club said conversations are still ongoing with a couple of players from last season's squad.

King said: "I am very pleased to get these deals done with the players from last season, and there will be announcements on new players joining the squad very soon.

"I look forward to welcoming back the players from last season and the new signings I have made for pre-season in July.

"We have some great friendlies lined up and it will be great to have a crowd back cheering on the players."

Barham joined the Darts from Dorking Wanderers in August 2020. He scored two goals in 11 starts and four substitute appearances.

Barham said: "My time at Dartford has come to an end! Gutted we couldn’t get the job done last season but never the less I really enjoyed my time at the club and wish you nothing but success next season!"

The National League South season gets under way on Saturday, August 14.
