Dartford miss chance to go top of Isthmian Premier at Lewes but Cray Valley, Dover Athletic, Chatham Town, Folkestone Invicta and Cray Wanderers win; Ramsgate’s home victory moves them towards Isthmian South East title

Dartford missed the chance to go top of the Isthmian Premier table on Saturday.

With frontrunners Billericay beaten, a win would have sent Ady Pennock’s troops to the summit - only for them to lose 3-1 at Lewes.

Defender Michael Olarewaju helped them recover from being behind at half-time with a 52nd-minute goal in front of a crowd of 1,022, only for Marcus Sablier to strike twice late on to consign the Darts to defeat.

Second-half strikes from Kiki Oshilaja and Tom Beere ensured fourth-placed Cray Valley were 2-0 victors at Potters Bar.

The win came at a cost for Steve McKimm’s side, though, who had Dan Bowry dismissed for a second caution with three minutes to play.

Ryan Hanson struck on his return for fellow play-off occupants Dover to help them claim a much-needed win against basement boys Bowers & Pitsea.

The midfielder and former captain headed in Whites’ first goal and young forward Luke Baptiste also found the net ahead of half-time in their 2-0 victory.

It was a first home win since November 16 for Jake Leberl’s side and ended a five-game winless streak.

Chatham Town won 2-0 at Whitehawk.

John Ufuah gave Kevin Hake’s men the lead in the 19th minute and young substitute Sam Sene-Richardson got their second with five minutes to play.

Cray Wanderers eased to a 3-1 triumph over Canvey Island at home.

A Frankie Raymond penalty and a Soul Kader goal put Neil Smith’s side in command at half-time and, while ex-Sittingbourne striker Chris Harris pulled one back off the substitutes' bench, Lateef Adaja sealed the points in front of a 555-strong crowd at Flamingo Park.

They are nine points off fifth-placed Dover, having played a league game more than them.

Folkestone secured a 2-1 success at Bognor Regis - before parting ways with Andy Drury as their manager.

In-form midfielder Jack Jebb, with his fourth goal in six games, and forward Matthias Fanimo did the damage in the first half.

They held on despite losing No.1 Jonny Henly to a stoppage-time sending off.

Leaders Ramsgate moved another giant stride towards the Isthmian South East title.

With Dan Hull sent off in first-half injury time for Eastbourne, Ben Smith’s side took full advantage at Southwood as they earned a 4-0 win in front of an attendance of 1,421 at Southwood.

Wideman Alfie Paxman broke the deadlock, another double for captain Joe Taylor being sandwiched by defender Tom Clifford’s goal.

Their advantage now stands at 10 points, despite having played two league fixtures more than second-placed Sittingbourne, with Ryan Maxwell’s men edged out in a five-goal game at Three Bridges.

A home injury-time penalty left goals from Liam Smith and Ryan Kingsford in vain.

Play-off occupants Margate were forced to settle for a point at home to Broadbridge Heath in a 1-1 draw.

Trailing to an early effort, winger TT Walters’ first club goal got them level but, despite the visitors finishing with 10 men, Ben Greenhalgh’s men could not find a winning goal.

Ashford secured an impressive 2-1 triumph over third-placed Burgess Hill at Homelands.

Trailing to a first-half goal, striker Gary Lockyer equalised and midfielder Michael West won it for Lloyd Hume’s team with the only goal after the interval.

Four-goal striker Warren Mfula inspired Sevenoaks to a 4-0 win at Littlehampton.

Sheppey were edged out 1-0 at play-off chasing Beckenham.

Phoenix Sports’ Isthmian South East survival bid was handed another boost through a 1-0 triumph at basement boys Steyning Town Community.

Perri Iandolo gave Darren Anslow’s men a first-half lead - before there were three players red-carded at the death.

They included Phoenix’s Jamarie Brissett and home goalkeeper Nathan Stroomberg-Clarke.

Deal fought back to share the spoils from a four-goal game at third-bottom Hythe.

Goals from Anthony Adesite and Lex Allan had the Cannons in command inside 25 minutes, only for Steve King’s side to get goals from Tom Chapman and substitute Wes Hennessey.

Herne Bay were forced to settle for a 2-2 home draw with AFC Croydon.

Forward Kane Rowland gave Bay a ninth-minute lead at Winch’s Field in an early kick-off and, although former Faversham forward Dan Thompson equalised, Danny Kedwell’s men lost No.1 Amadou Tangara to a straight red before half-time.

Top scorer Mike Salako appeared to have got James Collins a first victory as Bay’s boss on 50 minutes, only for the visitors to again hit back to earn a share of the spoils.

Erith Town played out a goalless draw at home to East Grinstead.
