Adam Flanagan knows one more bad performance could cost Dartford a place in the play-offs.
Darts looked nailed-on for a top-seven finish before dropping seven points in three games against teams in the bottom third of National League South.
Last weekend’s 3-1 humbling at rock-bottom Weston has allowed the chasing pack to close in, with the four sides below Dartford all now within three points.
Joint-boss Flanagan said: “The worrying thing was that it was a continuation of a couple of performances at home, where we should have been better.
“We’re not going to get any more chances.
“In the last three games when we’ve lost one and drawn two, the teams around us have done the same. The only team that really pushed on in that top six has been Welling, but it’s given opportunity for teams like Wealdstone, Concord and St Albans to start catching up.
“With four games to go, we can’t afford to have any more mishaps because if we do, we’ll get punished and the hard work that’s been put in to get to where we are will slip through our fingers.”
Dartford host Chippenham on Saturday, the mid-table visitors having lost five of their last six games.
But Flanagan warned: “Chippenham fall into a similar category to Truro and Hampton, games we should be winning and on the evidence we provided in those games, we didn’t do enough.
“We’ve got to make sure we do enough on Saturday.
“I believe we have to win. It’s a critical game and we have to deliver a performance.
“There’s always someone who drops out of the play-offs late and we’ve got to make sure it’s not us.”
