Dominant Dartford secured an eighth straight win against Billericay to move level on points with their Isthmian Premier promotion rivals on Saturday.
Early goals from top scorer Olly Box and George Whitefield had the Darts in control by half-time against the Essex outfit that had beaten them 4-0 in early October.
But red-hot Dartford firmly turned the tables on them as second-half strikes from Callum Jones and substitute Eddie Dsane completed their own 4-0 victory.
The home side made the perfect start and took the lead in just the fifth minute on a fantastic day with the match’s first real chance.
Young forward Box emphatically blasted past goalkeeper Sam Donkin from around 20 yards out to find the top corner after the ball had fallen kindly to him for his 12th goal this campaign.
Nine minutes later, it got even better for Ady Pennock’s team in front of a 1,634-strong attendance.
Right-back Whitefield sent a near-post bullet header from a Samir Carruthers corner past Donkin for his fifth goal of the season to double their tally.
Home keeper Jacob Marsden had to be alert in the 21st minute as he tipped an in-swinging cross by skipper Matt Johnson away from danger.
Soon after - for a second successive weekend - Carruthers’ afternoon ended early. He hobbled off to be replaced by Chelmsford loanee Louis Dunne in midfield.
It was Dunne, who had the next opportunity for the Darts. He curled inches over with a free-kick.
Referee Dan Blades then opted to give Billericay striker Femi Akinwande and Darts defender Mike Olarewaju a warning apiece after a coming together between the players in the 41st minute.
To add insult to injury, visiting defender Tommy Davis (shoulder) hobbled off and, although manager Gary McCann didn’t make the change in the first half, it was almost inevitable he would not reappear after the break.
Indeed, a double half-time away change saw debutant Elliot Long, signed on loan from Welling, and fellow forward Moses Emmanuel replace the injured Davis and Tyrell Miller-Rodney.
Whitefield again got on the end of a set-piece on 51 minutes, but his header from a left-wing free-kick was weak and easily gathered by Donkin.
The hosts should have got their third goal just before the hour mark, only for Box to - somehow - head Dunne’s delivery straight at Donkin from a matter of yards out. Box picked up a knock in the process, finishing his match early.
His replacement, Dsane, was thwarted by Donkin in a carbon-copy chance at the far post from a left-back Sam Odaudu delivery.
But the home team’s third did come when Jones nodded in Dunne’s corner with 63 minutes played for his eighth goal this term.
As the visitors looked for a goal to get them back into the contest, Marsden came out quickly to brilliantly thwart substitute Emmanuel before Dsane again tested Donkin at the other end.
But Dsane was not to be denied. He slammed home man-of-the-match Jones’ cross for his 10th goal this term after fantastic right-wing play, with Dartford - even by their own high standards of recent months - in breathtaking form.
Marsden made a superb save in the last minute of normal time to tip wide De-Carrey Sheriff’s near-post strike from a left-wing cross while Billericay also rattled Marsden’s woodwork at the start of injury time.
But the Darts held on for a fourth shut-out from their past seven fixtures.
With Sam Okoye suspended after last weekend’s controversial sending off in the 2-1 win at Wingate & Finchley, Odaudu replaced him on his return from a hamstring injury. Dartford’s other switch saw Olarewaju come in for Dunne.
New Chelmsford loanee midfielder Bradley Williams came in the visitors’ team alongside ex-Dartford player Miller-Rodney for defender Tom Bender and teenager Charlie Panton, who dropped to the substitutes’ bench.
Third-placed Dartford, whose unbeaten league run now stands at 17 matches, will be at struggling Bowers & Pitsea next weekend.
