Dartford maintained their position at the top of Isthmian Premier with a comfortable win over Hashtag United on Saturday.
A Callum Jones penalty plus another excellent Olly Box goal proved the difference at Princes Park.
After a quiet start, Louis Dunne played in Box after 12 minutes but his low shot was kept out by the legs of keeper Jack Giddens.
Then on-loan midfielder Hayden Bullas’ cross was just too high for George Whitefield to keep his header down.
But the breakthrough arrived moments later. Hashtag’s Joshua Rusoke was lucky to escape with just a yellow card as he made no attempt to play the ball when pulling back Callum Jones in the box.
Referee Peter Conn pointed to the spot and Jones stepped up to give Dartford a 17th-minute lead.
With his confidence up, Jones tried to hook home an audacious effort from skipper Josh Hill’s centre but the ball looped wide of the far post.
Hashtag were limited to counter attacks and it needed two decent stops from Darts keeper Jacob Marsden to keep his goal intact. Marsden was out swiftly to deny Tobias Aromolaran and then denied Matthew Wooldridge after he exchanged passes down the right wing.
After the break, Jones was denied twice at the far post from a Box cross and it was only a Dartford error that seemed likely to give Hashtag a path back into the game. When Denzelle Olapade lost the ball in midfield, the visitors broke swiftly but Joshua Osude shot high and wide at the near post.
It was Dartford who looked more likely to add a second goal, though, Michael Olarewaju headed wide from a corner before then firing over from close range while Jones was again thwarted by Giddens.
Hashtag nearly levelled on 79 minutes but substitute Luke May-Parrott fired his right-foot shot wide from inside the area.
The Darts wrapped up the points with six minutes left when Odaudu made an excellent charge forward from the edge of his box. Having exchanged passes with Box, Odaudu then crossed for the young striker to emphatically fire home beyond Giddens.
Osude struck the post in stoppage time for Hashtag and then found the side netting after going round Marsden, meaning the Darts remain top over Billericay on goals scored.
