Police cordon off alleyway in Deal, between Manor Road and Trinity Place after sexual assault

Police have cordoned off an alleyway after reports of a sexual assault.

The alley leading from Manor Road to Trinity Place in Deal has been taped off at both ends by police. An officer has stood guard for most of the day.

It comes after a women in her 40s, walking home from a property in Mill Road at around 1am this morning, was attacked.

A police spokesman said: "Anyone with information or video footage in Manor Road, Mill Hill and Trinity Place, that might show the route the woman took are asked to get in touch as soon as possible.

"Detectives are working with the victim to get a full account of the circumstances surrounding the assault."

Officers remain in the area carrying out house-to-house enquiries, reviewing CCTV and exploring forensic opportunities.
