Police appeal for CCTV footage after car vandalism spree in Deal

Residents with CCTV are asked to share it with police who are investigating a spate of car vandalism.

Tens of cars were damaged overnight on Monday including in the Somerset Road area, including Cornwall Road, Downs Road and Churchill Avenue.

Officers have not confirmed the exact number of reports received but say enquiries are ongoing.

In the mean time, residents are being urged to remain vigilant.

Sergeant Ben Norbury from Dover Community Safety Unit said: "PCSOs are in the area carrying out enquiries and reviewing any CCTV opportunities.

"We thank those who have spoken to officers already, and would ask that if any residents have CCTV footage or information about the damage, to contact us and assist our investigation.

"Anyone who witnessed any of the incidents, or saw anything suspicious, is asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting reference 13-022.

"Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers in Kent anonymously on 0800 555 111."
