Bid to stop motorists using Felderland Lane as a short-cut between main roads in Deal and Sandwich

A consultation has launched into proposals to restrict motorists from taking a short-cut between two main roads.

Concerns have been raised by residents about Felderland Lane’s use as a alternative route between the A258 Deal Road and A256 Sandwich Road.

Kent County Council is proposing to restrict this but stopping the left turn into Felderland Lane from the Deal Road and stopping the right turn out onto Deal Road, encouraging drivers to use the main roads.

If supported, the scheme will include changes to the layout of Felderland Lane with a grass verge on the Deal side of the junction with the A258 and a new traffic island at the Felderland Lane junction.

The closing date is February 12.
