Boys held after missiles are thrown at train

KENT Police have arrested six youths after reports that they were throwing objects at passing trains from a disused signal box.

One of the missiles smashed a train window in the incident.

Police were called to the railway line near Western Road in Deal at about 7pm last Friday.

The boys, aged 14 to 18 and all from the Deal area, were questioned. One of them, aged 15, was charged with causing criminal damage. He was released on police bail to appear before Folkestone Youth Court on Tuesday, April 11.

Four of the other youths were given formal cautions and a 14-year-old has been released on bail while officers make further enquiries.
