Those on their own at Christmas receive three-course lunch thanks to Deal restaurant donations

The 31st annual event was attended by 79 guests, many of which received free transport to and from the venue.

Musical entertainment was provided by Steve King and the Ukelele Rollers.

The Mayor of Deal Cllr Eileen Rowbotham was also welcomed.

Spokesman Terry Bishop said: "We are grateful to the Astor Theatre for allowing ACE to host this traditional celebration for people from Deal and Walmer who might otherwise be on their own.

"Thanks to local restaurants, small businesses and individuals whose support means the whole event is provided for free.
