Casualty airlifted after falling from White Cliffs of Dover

A coastguard helicopter air lifted a casualty to the top of the White Cliffs of Dover after they fell this morning.

The authority has confirmed the craft was involved in a search and rescue operation that included Port of Dover Police South East Coast Ambulance Service.

A spokesman for HM Coastguard said: "At just before 11.50am today (19 September) HM Coastguard was asked for assistance following a report that a person had fallen from the cliffs at Dover docks.

"Multiple assets were sent to the scene including: Coastguard Rescue Teams from Dover, Folkestone and Langdon Battery and the search and rescue helicopter from Lydd were sent.

"Also on the scene were Kent Police and the South East Ambulance Service.

The person was airlifted to the top of the cliff and passed into the care of the Ambulance Service."

The Port of Dover Police have been contacted for a comment.
