Cows on line between Sandwich and Deal cause train delays

Morning commuters were faced with train delays after cows strayed onto a railway line.

Network Rail was forced to send response staff to try and remove the animals which caused delays for passengers travelling between Deal and Sandwich.

The issue was resolved at around 10.30am.

An announcement on Southeastern’s website said: “Following animals on the line earlier between Deal and Sandwich train services running through these stations are returning to normal."

As a precaution trains are running at a reduced speed.
