Fire in basement of building in Station Road, Deal tackled by fire crews

Three fire engines were sent to the scene of a fire in the basement of property in Deal overnight so crews could tackle the blaze.

Firefighters from Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to a property Station Road.

As crews arrived on the scene they could see smoke coming from the basement of the building.

Two people at the address were were passed into the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service for checks.

Firefighters using breathing apparatus entered the building to put out the blaze and prevented the flames from spreading further.

It is thought the fire started accidentally.
