Walmer: Elderly man injured in Dover Road bus crash

An elderly man has been injured after a collision involving a bus and a car.

Emergency services were called to reports of the two-vehicle crash at the junction of Granville Road and Dover Road in Walmer at 8.05am.

The driver of the black Mercedes, in his 70s, is being treated at the scene and the Stagecoach bus has been taken out of service.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "The driver of the car who's in their 70s is suffering minor injuries."

The impact left the front nearside corner of the bus severely damaged and a large dent on the driver's door of the car.

A large amount of broken glass was strewn near the car.

The accident caused brief delays for rush hour drivers as police controlled traffic, letting cars on either side of the road take turns to get past.
