Trinity Church Christmas Tree Festival at Union Road, Deal, takes place for 11th year

A church will have a record number of 61 entries for its festival of uniquely decorated trees.

The Christmas Tree Festival 2018 takes place for the 11th year running and is at Trinity Church, Union Road, Deal, from Friday to Sunday.

It will formally be opened by town mayor Nick Tomaszewski at 10am on Friday and there will be festive songs from the Sandown School Choir.

The clog dancers Arkwright's Steppers will perform from 11am next day.

The event last year raised £3,300 for charity.

This year's causes are the homelessness charity Porchlight and the church and community support group Cross-Links Dover, which is based in the town's Buckland estate.

Money will also to towards Trinity Church Funds.

Opening times for the festival are 10am to 5.30pm on Friday and Saturday and noon to 5pm on Sunday.
