A desperate man called out firefighters after he was trapped in his car for six hours.

The vehicle was parked in Victoria Road, Deal, and the doors would not open.

One appliance from Deal assisted at 5am.

The man had been trapped in his car for six hours, watch manager Shane Gibbons said.

Before the crew got there, he managed to smash a window and climb out.

Mr Gibbons said: "We are not sure how he got locked in, the car might have dead locked.

"He smashed a window just before we got there."
