Firefighters tackle shed fire in York Road, Deal

A shed fire in Deal has destroyed an entire garden and damaged the fascia of a house.

Two engines were called to the incident in York Road at around 4pm.

They arrived within minutes to find the contents of the garden well alight including the decking, which measured about five metres by five metres.

A fire service spokesman said: “Using breathing apparatus and hose reel jets, the firefighters extinguished the fire, however the contents of the garden were completely destroyed by the fire.

“The fascia of the house was also damaged by the heat of the fire.”

There were no reported injuries and the cause isn’t yet known.

No official warning was issued but residents were advised to shut their windows to help preserve their property and belongings.
