Man arrested following theft of Harry Potter-style Ford Anglia in Walmer, Deal

An arrest has been made in connection with the theft of a Harry Potter-style car.

The customised light blue Ford Anglia was stolen from a garage in Station Road Walmer at around 12.15pm on Thursday, October 17.

The 35-year-old man from Folkestone was arrested on suspicion of burglary two days ago (Sunday).

A Kent Police spokesman said: "He has been released under investigation while enquiries are ongoing."

The car is a replica of the one seen flying in one of the films about the boy wizard.

It is owned by Steven Wickenden, of Walmer, who hires it out for themed weddings, birthday parties, fun days and TV and movie filming.

It is also used in local fundraising events.

The vehicle is 1965 105E model, registered GKX 840C.

It even has a model of a snowy owl in a cage in the back seat, like in the 2002 smash hit movie Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Anyone who may have been offered the car for sale or seen it, is asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting the reference number 46/201939/19.
