Police search for suspect after man ‘seen disposing of machete’ in Deal

Police are searching for a suspect after a knife, thought to be a machete, was found in a residential street.

Officers were called to St Augustine's Road in Deal on Friday (May 2).

It had been reported that a man was seen disposing of a knife.

Doorbell camera footage, seen by KentOnline, has been shared on social media of a man walking through a nearby road holding what appears to be a machete.

A police spokesman added: “No injuries or additional criminal offences were reported.

“Officers attended and have seized the knife while an investigation continues.

“Additional police patrols are taking place in the area while those involved are being located.
