New Look in Deal High Street to close after almost three decades

Troubled retailer New Look has announced another store closure in Kent.

The struggling clothing giant will shut its branch in Deal High Street after 27 years on Sunday, October 21 - according to a poster in its window.

But a spokesman for the retailer says the last day of trade will be Saturday, October 27.

Its departure follows an announcement in March that the fashion chain would close 60 stores and slash 980 jobs across the UK in a bid to to strengthen its financial footing.

At the time of the announcement, only two Kent stores - Maidstone and Ramsgate - faced the chop.

However, since then the retailer has also closed its branches in Herne Bay and Tunbridge Wells.

A spokesman said: "I can confirm our Deal store is due to close and last day of trade is October 27."
