Rising Sun pub's skittles team erects huge 24ft Christmas Tree - donations for baubles will help pre-school

A team of eight people clambered to erect a 24ft Christmas tree outside a village pub and now the landlords are inviting you to hang baubles for a good cause.

Dan and Toni Johnson of The Rising Sun in Ringwould near Deal roped in their skittles team to help put up the super spruce.

It has since been been adorned with festive lights and now it needs the community to decorate it.

Mr Johnson said: "Following the success of last year's tree which raised £234 for the RNLI, we're asking people to do the same but this year for Kingsdown Pre-school towards their new build."

People can hang their own decoration or collect one from inside the pub.

In exchange, a minimum £1 donation is asked to be placed in a tin inside the pub.

Pupils from the pre-school were expected to visit and hang their own handmade baubles.

The pub is also hosting a carol service at 7.30pm on Christmas Eve and all are invited.
