Ashford organist Bryan Gipps to give recital at Walmer Baptist Church

A newly refurbished organ will be at the centre of a music event at Walmer Baptist Church in Deal tomorrow (Saturday).

The church's two manual pipe organ, built in 1924, has been restored thanks to an anonymous donation by F H Browne & Sons in 2019.

It will be dedicated by The Rev Jerry Newson of South Eastern Baptist Association, at 3pm, followed by a recital.

This will be led by Bryan Gipps, director of music at St Mary's Church in Ashford, with light refreshments to finish.

It will be the first of regular recitals at the Kelvedon Road church, taking place on the third Saturday of each month.

Admission is free but there will be a retiring collection.
