Ms Carlyle added that an informal group called Reclaim These Streets- Deal is exploring the safety aspects for women living in the town and hoping to work with local authorities on questions of violence and harassment in the future.

A memorial walk for Sarah is planned and a formation of a line of stones by Deal Castle has already been laid.

Another book of condolences had been opened in Sandwich on Thursday.

Sarah Everard, 33, went missing in London on March 3 and was found dead a week later.

Deal has been a main focus in the murder investigation since March 9 after serving Metropolitan Police officer Wayne Couzens was arrested at his home in Freemen's Way.

Over the last couple of weeks Met officers have poured into Kent as part of the investigation.

They have been in the Great Chart area of Ashford where Sarah's body was found on March 10.

They were also in Dover searching Couzens' former workplace the now disused BCB garage in Centre Road.

On Thursday they returned to the area, cutting off half a mile of Centre Road and North Military Road, but left the area today.

The road had been closed from its junctions with Bowling Green Terrace and Citadel Road.
