Victims of death crashes named

POLICE have revealed the identity of an elderly woman who died in hospital on Monday shortly after a three-car crash on the main road between Deal and Sanwich.

She was Freeda Keen, 79, of Church Lane, Deal, who was a passenger in one of cars. She died in hospital at Margate.

An inquest into her death was being opened today by coroner Rebecca Cobb. Mrs Keen's husband, Arthur, 81, who was driving their Volkswagen Polo, was treated in hospital for minor injuries.

People in the two other cars were treated at the scene by ambulance crews.

A police investigation into the crash is being held and an appeal has been made for witnesses. Annyone with information is asked to contact PC Steve Maycock at Deal Police Station on 01304 362167.

MEANWHILE, the driver of a Proton car killed is a crash on the A2 at Barfrestone, near Dover, last Wednesday, has been named as Peter Davies, who lived at Saltwood, near Hythe. He would have been 81 on Friday.

His car was involved in a collision with a white Rover Cabriolet on the London-bound carriageway.
