Author and wildlife expert Simon Pollard releases second book The View Over the Wall about connection to the world

A Deal man who has already published a book about how to be happy in life has published a second.

The View Over the Wall focuses on our connection to the world and will be launched later this month.

It is by wildlife expert Simon Pollard, 56, of Mongeham Road, who runs his own gardening business Simple Life Limited.

He said: "It explores the world we live in and some of the wonders we share our world with, and thus what we can learn from nature that will help us find a little inner peace. A valuable commodity in our busy world."

His debut book was called The Three Year Pond and other Absurdities.

It is an open and honest account of a three-year period in Mr Pollard's life when he felt like he was in a black hole with no way out.

Its pages explain how taking responsibility for every part of his life and the consequences of his actions led him to be happy and fulfilled.

"It explores the world we live in and some of the wonders we share our world with..."

Mr Pollard said at the time: “We must take responsibility for everything we think and do for our own happiness.

“It comes down to the simple things such as how we deal with those around us, both personally and professionally.”

Mr Pollard, who trained to be a teacher and also worked for the RSPB for 10 years, talks candidly about how to rebuild a struggling business with stronger foundations. He also discusses his divorce, being a single parent.

The launch date for the Kindle version of his new offering is August 25.

It is available at a special price of £1.50 that day only. It is normally £3.95.

The organisation has a helpline.

Anyone who e-mails Mr Pollard a copy of the receipt from the Kindle can buy a signed copy of the book for £10 including p&p.

The usual price is £11.50.
