Deborah Rose of Northbourne Road in Great Mongeham charged after seafront 'stabbing'

A woman has been charged after a stabbing on Deal seafront.

Police and an air ambulance were called to Beach Street in Deal at 5.15pm on Wednesday after a man in his 50s had been seriously assaulted.

Deborah Rose, 47, of Northbourne Road, Great Mongeham, has since been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

She appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court via virtual link today and was remanded in custody.

The case will next be heard at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, March 5.

A police spokesman said: "The man was taken to a London hospital with injuries consistent with stab wounds.

"His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

"The suspect and victim are understood to be known to each other and officers remain in the area conducting ongoing enquiries."
