Air ambulance lands at European Grasstrack Championship Final in Swingfield Minnis

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital with head injuries after being hurt in a competition.

The rider was hurt at the European Grasstrack Championship Final in Swingfield Minnis between 1 and 2pm on Sunday.

The Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance was called but the victim was taken to Ashford’s William Harvey Hospital by the private firm BM Ambulance Service.

The ambulance had been on standby at the event, with a doctor.

Craig Bickers, from BM, said: “The victim had been hurt when there had been a pile-up at the start of the race.

“One motorcycle flipped and the rest crashed into it.

“The victim was seriously hurt with head injuries.”

BM Ambulance Service Ltd is based at Orbital Park, Ashford.
