Seal spotted swimming in Dover harbour on Bank Holiday Monday

It wasn't just hordes of holidaymakers enjoying the blissful Bank Holiday weather today.

A seal was spotted among the crowds bobbing about at Dover harbour.

BBC news reporter Simon Jones posted the early afternoon sighting on Twitter.

Like hundreds flocking to the coast today, it may just be after a cooling afternoon dip.

In another Kent town, a seal has become something of a tourist attraction after first being spotted in April.

Bradley, as the marine mammal has been called despite subsequently being identified as female, even has her own roped off area along the River Medway at Maidstone.
