One lane of the London-bound carriageway of the A2 just outside Dover is currently closed.
Emergency crews are dealing with a double-decker bus that pulled up after the engine caught fire.
The bus was not carrying passengers and no-one was hurt.
The flames were quickly put out, but police say it may take till 6.30pm to clear the carriageway.
The incident started at 4.23pm
