A pedestrian was taken to hospital after being run over with a car along a busy road.

Emergency services were called to the A256 London Road in Dover shortly before 3pm.

It led to police closing the northbound road with the junction for Coombe Valley Road for several hours.

Traffic delays are affecting routes around Dover where vehicles tried to divert around the accident.

The pedestrian has reportedly suffered serious injuries and has been taken to hospital in London.
