Cannabis farm discovered following fire in East Cliff, Dover

A cannabis farm was uncovered following a fire at a house in Dover.

The blaze happened next to the First and Last pub in East Cliff on Thursday.

Two fire engines were called to the home at 7.25pm and remained there until 8.55pm.

No injuries were reported and the cause is believed to be accidental.

Police also attended the fire and have now confirmed a small cannabis cultivation was discovered at the house.

A spokesman for police said: "At 7.52pm on Thursday, December 3, Kent Police was notified that a small cannabis cultivation had been uncovered at a property in East Cliff, Dover, following a fire.

"Officers are investigating the circumstances and their enquiries are ongoing.

"The fire was safely extinguished by Kent Fire and Rescue Service."
