Dover dog owner handed £157 bill in court after walking dogs in exclusion zone and failing to pay fine

A dog owner caught walking his pets in an exclusion zone has been handed a £157 fine.

James Glanfield, 28, of Whitfield Avenue, Dover , was seen in charge of two dogs in River Recreation Ground - an area where dogs are banned.

A Dover District Council environmental enforcement officer approached him, issuing an on the spot fine.This happened on December 29.

But when this was not paid, Mr Glanfield was taken to court.

The hearing was held at Folkestone Magistrates Court on Monday, September 7 where he pleaded guilty to the Public Spaces Protection Order breach.

He was fined £75, and ordered to pay costs of £50, with a victim surcharge of £32.
