Buses diverted after crash closes Melbourne Avenue Dover

A road in Dover is currently closed after a crash and buses are being diverted via another route.

The crash happened in Melbourne Avenue, Whitfield, earlier today and the emergency services were sent to the scene.

As a result of the crash, bus service 61 which is run by travel firm Stagecoach, have diverted buses via Whitfield Hill.

It is thought the crash happened at about 1pm but it is not known at this stage if anyone has been seriously injured.

Stagecoach tweeted about the diversion earlier today.

It has since emerged the crash was a result of a man fleeing police in his vehicle after they requested he stop in Coombe Valley Road, but he failed to do so.
