Dishwasher fire contained at Dover home by firefighters

Firefighters were able to stop a dishwasher fire from spreading at a home in Dover last night.

Smoke began emerging from the kitchen appliance at a house in Astor Avenue at 9.20pm and the occupant was able to call for help just in time.

Watch manager for the Dover station Jamie Muddle said it was a fault with the dishwasher that had caused it.
