Dover TAP stood down as delays ease

A measure to ease the effects of heavy lorry traffic on Dover's roads has been stood down.

The Dover Traffic Access Protocol (TAP) was implemented this morning on the westbound A20 near Aycliffe for all vehicles heading to the port.

Highways England posted the notice on their Twitter page today for all drivers heading towards the town.

Bosses put it down to a large number of vehicles going towards the docks.

Motorists heading to Dover were advised to allow more time for their journeys.

But the measure was stood down shortly before midday as delays eased.
