Driver 'caught inhaling laughing gas' behind the wheel in Dover

A young man has been arrested after he is thought to have been caught inhaling laughing gas behind the wheel.

The driver, who was using his mum's car, was stopped by police in the Dover area, who said they found alcohol and cannabis in his system.

Officers said more of the class B drug was found hidden in the car.

He was taken into custody for further blood testing.

Kent Police's Roads Policing Unit tweeted: "Young driver, driving mum's car, spotted inhaling nitrous oxide whilst driving.

"Stopped and found to have alcohol and cannabis in his system as well as cannabis hidden in the vehicle.

"Currently in custody taking sample of blood for analysis."
