Explosions heard after fire in Charlton Shopping Centre car park in Dover

Explosions were heard coming from a shopping centre while thick black smoke was seen billowing from its car park.

Fire crews were called to the Charlton Shopping Centre in Dover after reports of a car on fire.

Eyewitness Graham Tutthill filmed the scene from outside Asda.

Crowds can be seen watching from the supermarket as smoke fills the sky.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed a car was destroyed in the blaze.

A spokesman for the fire service said: "KFRS was called to a car on fire on the top floor of the car park of Charlton Shopping Centre in Dover.

"We received the call at 5.18pm.

"Three fire engines were sent to the scene. There were no reported injuries. A car was 100% destroyed by fire."

They left the scene at 6.25pm.
