It is due to health and safety and spectator experience reasons, they say, although on track events are continuing.

A spokesman for The Lydden Hill Team said:"Our decision is due to the forecast changing dramatically over the last hour.

"The forecast was showing wind speed to calm down around midday although now shows increasing high wind speeds and heavy rain due to continue into this evening.

"The display will be rescheduled to next Saturday, November 9 following our Winter Rallycross event with fireworks going off around 5pm.

"Everyone who has bought tickets for today’s event, both all day and fireworks only, will receive free tickets for next weekend’s event with after dark display and fireworks."

Those who cannot make next weekend's event are asked to contact info@lyddenhill.co.uk by 5pm Wednesday.

E-Tickets will automatically be sent to everyone who bought tickets for Motormania on Thursday.

Tickets will be on sale for next weekends winter rallycross followed by fireworks within the next 24 hours.

Prices in advance will be £10 for fireworks only, £12.50 for Winter Rallycross all day which includes entry for fireworks.

All children under 13 enter free of charge.
