Several fresh planning applications have been submitted to Dover District Council - including new digital advertising screens and the construction of a new home.
BT has applied to remove an existing phone box site in Deal High Street. It will then be replaced as part of the company’s Street Hub scheme, which will offer free calls, a dedicated emergency services button and public WiFi.
The applicants state this will improve the street scene, removing the existing kiosk and replacing it with the new street hub, which also incorporates two 75-inch LCD advert screens.
In planning documents, BT adds: “Street Hubs will future-proof the high street, making it safer, smarter and more sustainable.
“It's part of our continuing commitment to invest and improve high streets and declutter these environments.”
Meanwhile, an outline application to construct a single dwelling in Martin Mill, near Dover, has been submitted.
All matters have been reserved at this stage, meaning detailed designs and access arrangements would come forward in later applications if approved in principle.
In Wingham, proposals have been submitted to add a first-floor side extension to a property in Canterbury Road.
Similarly, in Walmer, plans to add a new front porch and render the front facade of a dwelling in York and Albany Close have been submitted.

Meanwhile, in Deal, an application has been registered to fell three sycamore trees.
All three are subject to a Tree Preservation Order, meaning consent is required before any works can proceed.
All the above applications await a decision from DDC.
