RNLI Dover and Dungeness and coastguard helicopters involved in search for person in sea

A huge sea search has ended without any sign of a person reported to have gone overboard on a boat.

Helicopter and lifeboat crews were alerted to the incident in the Dover Strait at about 11.30pm last night.

Dover and Dungeness RNLI lifeboats were joined by a coastguard plane and helicopters from Lydd and Lee on Solent to find them.

The search was called off at 3.30am this morning with no one found.
