After stopping by her tent in Folkestone Road and finding it in a poor state, the 28-year-old decided to not only feed her, but also upgrade her accommodation.

“When I went there, I just saw the tent was not in a good condition,” Mr Zaman said.

“So I just talked to her and told her: ‘you are my sister, you don't need to be worried about food and one more thing, I'm going and bring you a new tent.’”

Mr Zaman - who lives in Folkestone - returned to the bus stop on Wednesday night and gave the woman pizza and burgers from his takeaway as well as a new tent and camping chair.

Overnight, reactions to his social media post telling of the good deed topped 1,300, with locals praising his kindness and compassion.

Natalie England commented: “This made me tear up…you will likely never know the impact you’ve made on her life or outlook.”

Karen Evans remarked: “Wow, what an amazing thing to do, well done.”

Jean Halford added: “This is what community spirit is.”

Mr Zama has only been running Pizza Pronto for six weeks, but says he has been blown away by the support from the community.

“I honestly couldn’t believe the amount of love,” he added.

“I built this business to help the community, so anyone who is hungry or homeless, can come and collect some pizza or burgers from here.

“And by keeping the margins really low, so we can serve food to everyone at affordable prices.

“I may only have a small takeaway, but I promise no genuinely needy person will sleep hungry in Dover so long as I’m here.”

Mr Zama has arranged to drop off hot food at the woman’s tent every night, and is encouraging other people in need to visit his takeaway.
