A20 and Townwall Street congested due to two separate road related incidents involving lorries

Two major routes into Dover have been congested on Monday due to separate road related incidents.

The first one happened at around 12.47pm - where the police received reports of a broken down lorry on the Londonbound carriageway of the A20, near Alkham.

It is believed the lorry was recovered after a couple of hours.

The police also got called to a road traffic collision involving what is believed to be two lorries at 1.28pm in Townwall Street, near the entrance to the Eastern Docks.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Officers are attending the scene in Townwall Street, Dover, to assist Port of Dover Police."
