P&O cross-Channel crossings cancelled after Romanian lorry driver dies from 'heart attack' on ferry after leaving Dover

A lorry driver has died on a P&O ferry this morning from a suspected heart attack.

The Romanian man was found dead on the Spirit of France ferry, which had left Dover at 7.35am.

It is thought the alarm was raised by his passenger in the lorry cab.

Officials discovered the man when the ferry docked in Calais.

P&O's 10.45am Calais to Dover sailing and 12.05pm Dover to Calais sailing were cancelled because of the incident.

Passengers were being offered alternative sailings.
