A key road was blocked off due to a lorry hitting a bridge.

The truck hit an overpass on the A2 near Dover between the A258 Duke of York roundabout and the A256 Whitfield interchange.

The road was been closed in both directions while emergency services attend and clear the scene. It reopened just before 9pm.

Highways England has said: "Traffic is being diverted locally, traffic to and from Dover from destinations further afield may consider using the M20/A20.

"Please allow extra time for your journey if travelling in the area."
