A concert venue is preceeding its first live shows since lockdown with five film screenings.

The Booking Hall in Dover will have a pop-up cinema to show major movies on their anniversary years.

The first of the Summer Cinema Sessions is on Saturday, June 5, with the showing of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which came out in 2001.

Seven days later film buffs can see Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, which was also premiered 20 years ago.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day, from 1991, will be screened on Saturday, June 26.

Independence Day, from 1996, will be on Sunday, July 4, and the 2001 action comedy Zoolander can be seen on Saturday, July 10.

Doors open at 6pm for each showing.

The venue, at The Old Harbour Station in Elizabeth Street, will have its first live concert in a year with Britpop group Space on July 23. The Duran Duran tribute group, Duran, appear on August 7.

The hall has been closed since March 2020 because of the pandemic.

On of the venue's later gigs will be by Sex Pistols tribute group The Pistols, on September 17.

A TV series based on the autobiography of the original guitarist, Steve Jones, was filmed in Dover, Deal and Folkestone at the end of April.

Pistol is directed by Danny Boyle.
