A MAN is due to appear at Dover Magistrates Court today charged with three firearm offences.

Unemployed Lithuanian Remigijus Marcinkus, 19, arrived at Dover Eastern Docks at about 10.30am on Thursday, February 27 on a coach from his homeland.

Immigration officers spoke to Mr Marcinkus and during a body search three pistols, two silencers and approximately 100 rounds of ammunition were found on him.

He was remanded in custody by magistrates at Folkestone on Friday.

The charges are a result of co-operation between HM Customs and Excise, the Immigration Service and Kent Police Special Branch.
